Attached: A Review

A good introduction to attachment styles, this book also reassures readers that there’s nothing inherently wrong with a given attachment style, assuring them that whatever category they find themselves in is completely normal, while at the same time encouraging the anxious and avoidant toward a more secure style. Interestingly, the author claims that codependency is but a myth; that there is nothing wrong with dependency, as long as it’s healthy (interdependency). Also of note is the claim that an anxiously-attached person can be in a healthy relationship with a secure person- that the secure’s healthy attachment will “rub off” on the anxious and turn them secure, for all intents and purposes. This book is one I will read again and again.
